Cell By Cell: Why We Haven’t Cured Cancer

Why haven’t we cured cancer? The question continues to rattle the minds of the world’s smartest, and there’s no easy answer. Through this data we compiled from Cancer.org, we did our best to explain how cancer is not as simple (or as singular) as other diseases, and how it evolves as a disease makes it one of the most difficult things for a human to conquer. The future battle against the disease won’t be easy by any stretch of the imagination, as detailed in the infographic. However, there is light to be seen – overall survival rates from most strands of the disease have improved in the right direction, although not nearly as high – or as successful, as we might hope.
